LOS ANGELES (August 5, 2024) – The 11th annual American Reality TV Awards (ARTAS®) has announced its official nominees in 29 distinct categories. The worldwide vote is open now until Monday, September 2nd at 11:59pmPT, by either texting ARTAS to 40691 or going to http://vote.theARTAS.com to secure your ballot.
40 broadcast, cable and streaming networks and 123 reality production companies are represented in this year’s nominations. Leading the pack with 9 nominations is CBS’s Survivor, followed by NBC’s American Ninja Warrior, with 8 nominations and a new show nominated for 6 potential wins, INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY’s The Curious Case of Natalia Grace. 5-nomination announcements were also given to CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada. ABC’s The Golden Bachelor, both MTV’s Jersey Shore Family Vacation and RuPaul’s Drag Race and ABC’s Shark Tank. Regarding broadcast network nominations, ABC leads the pack with 21, NBC has 20, CBS with 17, MTV with 15, BRAVO with 14, TLC with 13, FOX and INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY with 12, DISCOVERY and OXYGEN TRUE CRIME and Canada’s CTV with 5. Nominations for streaming services include HULU with 10, DISNEY+ with 6, YOUTUBE with 5, PEACOCK with 3, MAX and NETFLIX with 2, and both PRIME VIDEO and THE ROKU CHANNEL with 1 nomination each.
MGM (Alternative, Television & Evolution Media) leads the production company nominations with 33. Warner Brothers Unscripted Television and Warner Horizon has 17, The ITV family of companies (ITV America, ITV Entertainment, Good Caper Content & ITV Studios) garnered 16 noms, A. Smith & Company Productions has 15, Fremantle has 13, Hot Snakes Media and Universal Television Alternative Studio grabs 7 nominations, World of Wonder, 495 Productions and Phantasticus Pictures, with 6, Boardwalk Pictures, Inside Productions Ltd. picked up 5 nominations and Ugly Dog Entertainment, LLC, Syco Entertainment & Sharp Entertainment received 4 each.
Mainstream talent/host Stormy Daniels, comedian Ms. Pat, legendary singer Ed Sheeran, rapper Swizz Beatz, film & tv stars Sylvester Stallone and Jeremy Renner, Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts and entertainment legend Dick Van Dyke are also receiving their very first ARTAS nominations.
Some of the most notable winners over the awards’ history have been Valerie Bertinelli, Wayne Brady, Luke Bryan, Courteney Cox, Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, Steve Harvey, Derek Hough, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Howie Mandel, Katy Perry, Amy Poehler, Jack Osborne, Gordon Ramsey, Leah Remini, Lionel Richie, RuPaul, Amy Schumer, Sofia Vergara, comedy legend Betty White and even a former US President.
Many pioneers in the reality space have also been given Hall of Fame awards for their reality television longevity, including the original “HBIC”, Tiffany “I Love NY” Pollard, The Hills stars Heidi & Spencer Pratt and America’s Next Top Model’s original judge, the iconic supermodel Janice Dickinson.
